The Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom was founded back during the World War 1, specifically in 1915. Jane Addams was the first president for this amazing foundation. As it is pretty much stated in the name Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom works and wants to achieve through peaceful means world disarmament, economic justice, full rights for women, racial justice, an end to all forms of violance for women and to establish these social and pyschological conditions which will assure peace and freedom for every single person in the world.

WILPF will always work to create the best environment of political, social, pyscological and economic freedom for all the members of the human community, so at the end the peace and freedom can be enjoyed by everyone.

Specifically on April 28, 1915 a unique group of women met in Netherlands to protest the World War 1. The mothers of WILPF rejected the theory of that the war was inevitable and deifed all obstacles to their plan to meet together in war time. More than 1.000 women were essembled to work out on a plan to end the World War 1 and finally lay the basis for a permanent peace. After this meeting the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom was definitely born.

The president Jane Addams was the first president for Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom but, she was also the first U.S. woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize after her amazing work.

This incredible vision is still guiding us today as we are still facing the challenges.
